Black British couple give birth to white blue-eyed blonde baby girl

The British couple are both of Igbo Nigerian origin and have dark skin.

Father Ben Ihegboro, 44, a customer services adviser, admitted that when he saw the baby he exclaimed ‘What the flip?’ before joking: ‘Is she mine?’

Doctors at Queen Mary hospital in Sidcup insist that Nmachi – whose name means ‘beauty of God’ in the couple’s native Igbo language – is not an albino.

Her stunned parents, who already have two black children, just ‘sat and stared’ at their white baby when she arrived, they told the Sun last night.

‘We both just sat there after the birth staring at her,’ said Mr Ihegboro.

Mum Angela said: ‘She is beautiful, a miracle baby.’

Despite jokingly asking whether he was the father, Mr Igegboro said: ‘Of course she is mine.

‘My wife is true to me. Even if she hadn’t been, the baby wouldn’t have looked like that!’

Pale skin genes can skip generations but neither Ben nor Angela Ihegboro – who only moved to Britain five years ago – know of any white heritage in either of their families.

‘She doesn’t look like an albino child anyway,’ Mr Ihegboro said.

‘Not like the ones I have seen back in Nigeria or in books. She just looks like a healthy white baby.

‘My mum is a black Nigerian although she has a bit fairer skin than mine. But we don’t know of any white ancestry.

Big sisters Hayleigh, left, and Lauren Durrant, right, hold their new siblings Leah, left, and Miya, right. Scientists say the odds of their parents, Dean Durrant and Alison Spooner, having two sets of fraternal twins with strikingly different skin tones and eye colors is ‘one in millions.’

The world’s least alike twins

They are like any two . Best friends that aren’t above the occasional fight, the bond that Koen and Tuen share goes deeper than squabbling.

Looking at them, it might surprise you to learn that not only are they brothers— they’re twin brothers.

Dateline has been following their story since they first arrived in 1993.

Twins from different races…

2 years ago, the non-identical twins Marcia (left) and Millie Biggs in UK were born with a million-to-one chance by Caesarean section at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield after their mother Amanda conceived them through IVF treatment.

One-year old blue-eyed Marcia has inherited mother Amanda’s fair complexion and strawberry blonde hair, while Millie is clearly with black hair and dark skin which obviously takes after father, Michael Biggs, who is a Jamaican descent. Both parents come from families with a history of twins.
To somewhat coincidently, the mother of Australia’s black and white twins Alicia And Jasmin Singer is also of Jamaican origin.

Proud parents show off their million-to-one black and white twins

For one twin to be black and one to be white is so rare that it is thought by medical experts to be a one in a million occurrence.

Proud parents Florence Addo-Gerth and Stephan Gerth are over-joyed by the new additions to their family, which includes 18-year-old brother Randy.

Mother Florence, 35, hails from Ghana, west Africa while father Stephan is German.

Stephan, 40, said that although the couple were surprised by the children’s different colourings the most important  thing was that the babies were healthy.

Big yawn: Ryan (left) and Leo enjoy a nap, oblivious to the sensation their births have caused

The infants caused a sensation at the Sana Hospital in Lichtenberg, Germany, where they were born on Friday last week, with guests crowding around to greet the new arrivals.

And it is not only their skin colours that are different – the twins are already revealing opposing personalities.

Light-skinned Ryan is described as a ’spirited’ baby, while laidback brother Leo is a lot calmer.

Senior doctor Birgit Weber, who helped deliver the tots by ceasarean section, said that in 20 years of practice this was the first time she had seen differently coloured twins.

Kylie with partner Remi and daughters Remee and Kian

When Kylie Hodgson gave birth to twin daughters by caesarean section, she was just relieved that they had arrived safely.  It was only when the midwife handed them over for her to hold that she noticed the difference between them.  Remee, who weighed 5lb 15oz, was blonde and fair skinned.  Her sister Kian, born a minute later weighing 6lb, was black.  “It was a shock when I realised that my twins were two different colours,” said Kylie, 19.  “But it doesn’t matter to us – they are just our two gorgeous little girls.”

The amazing conception happened after two eggs were fertilised at the same time in the womb.  Both Kylie and her partner Remi Horder, 17, are of mixed race.  Their mothers are both white and their fathers are black.  According to the Multiple Births Foundation, baby Kian must have inherited the black genes from both sides of the family, whilst Remee inherited the white ones.

“Black and White” twins in China

A unique pair of twin girls were born to a family in Shenyang in northeastern China’s Liaoning province. One has a fair complexion, while the other looks tan, Modern Express reported.

The twins, now almost 5 years old, attract much attention with their similar features and different skin tones. Their father named them “Mei Lun” and “Mei Huan.” The phrase “mei lun mei huan” in Chinese means “magnificent.”

The reason for the different skin tones of the twins remains unknown. The parents of the twins are both 100% Chinese and no ancestors in their family have foreign pedigree.
